This complimentary Bible lesson is based on John 3:1-17 when Jesus speaks to Nicodemus about what it means to be born again. It is designed for children's church or Sun School. Please modify as best fits your ministry.
If your church follows the Revised Common Lectionary, this teaching plan would represent to Twelvemonth B – Trinity Sun, Gospel Reading – John 3:one-17.
Opening Activity – Built-in Again – All About Babies

Supplies – whiteboard, chalkboard, or big paper pad, and corresponding writing utensil
Play a game of hangman about all things infant.  Employ some of the suggestions below or brand up your ain.

• Babies drink milk.
• Peek-a-boo!
• Babies are a gift from God.
• Burping fourth dimension.

• Diapers are stinky.
• Babies like to be held.
• Babies love to hear your voice.

Lesson – Born Once again
Take you e'er seen a pregnant lady before?  How do you know she is pregnant?  Her belly!  And why does her belly become and so big?  Considering a baby is growing within and as the baby grows, her abdomen grows.
Do you think I could fit dorsum in my mom's belly?  Practice you lot call back I'one thousand too big?
Well, what most you lot?  Could you fit dorsum in your mom's belly?  Yous're too large too!
These questions might sound a little silly, but someone actually asked Jesus these aforementioned questions.
His proper name was Nicodemus, and he was confused about being born again.  Have you e'er heard someone say that before?  Born once again Christian?  Or mayhap built-in laic?  Nicodemus hadn't and when Jesus told him he needed to be born once again in order to get heaven he thought information technology was incommunicable.  How could he possibly get back in his mom'due south abdomen?
But do you retrieve that was what Jesus wanted him to do?  No!  Jesus meant a totally dissimilar type of born again.

Activeness A – Born Again– Bible Verse Challenge
Supplies – Bibles
Poetry – John 3:5
Pass out Bibles to students. Bibles should be airtight and sitting on the table face up in front end of each child. When you lot say go, have the kids look upward this week's Bible verse. As each kid finds the verse, have them stick one finger on the poetry and quietly raise their other mitt. The first one to find the verse gets to read it to the rest of the grade.
Help younger kids and new kids detect the verse past following these steps.
Look in the Tabular array of Contents for the book you are looking for. Make an effort to show them if it is found in the Old Testament or New Testament to help them in the futurity. Then open the Bible to the page number listed in the Table of Contents.
Show them the big numbers in the text, known as the chapters. Flip through pages until you detect the large chapter number you are looking for.
Then scan through the text with them pointing out the smaller verse numbers until the correct number is plant.
Activeness B – Born Again – 1 HUGE Happy Family

Supplies – large slice of mural paper, plain white paper, cartoon utensils, scissors, glue sticks
Give the children supplies to draw and colour 5+ people each.  Then have them cut out each person and tape them to the mural paper.  Encourage them to make each person dissimilar, with different hair colors, peel colors, dress, etc. to represent everyone who is part of God'due south family.
*To make this project go quicker print outlines out before class and just have them fill them in.
Closing Prayer – Built-in Over again

Ask for a volunteer to pray for the class before leaving, and encourage them to thank God for loving and so much.
